Welcome to the website for Watery Super Mario Bros 3.
Watery Super Mario Bros. 3 is a traditional styled Mario game designed in SMM2, all based around the Super Mario Bros. 3 game style. The game aims to use water as a main theme that is prevalent in all 8 worlds of the game. So, gameplay elements such as underwater sections are more of a main focus in this game than your typical, run of the mill Mario platformer.
While the game is built with the aesthetics of SMB3, most levels are designed to be more reminiscent of the levels in the New Super Mario Bros series, just with a more retro look to them. Although, I do reference multiple different Mario games in this game, including Super Mario Bros 2. (US), Super Mario Land, Super Mario World, Super Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros DS, Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros Wii and U, and Super Mario 3D Land.
The game can be thought of as a more polished spinoff of the original SMB3, just with many modern touches, and the quirks that appear in most SMM2 games.
On my website, you’ll find information about the game’s plot, collectibles, and the 8 worlds and 40 levels that you have to traverse to beat the game.
A letter has been sent to Peach’s castle…
Peach has been kidnapped!… Again.
Upon hearing this, Mario and friends were concerned… as usual, and stormed out of Peach’s Castle’s front door in a panic.
Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad, and Toadette all noticed a giant indentation in the path leading up to Peach’s Castle. It was Bowser’s footprints!
So, the four of them went to investigate, noticing more and more of Bowser’s gigantic prints in the ground. They went on for miles, until, suddenly, they arrived at a desert far away from Peach’s Castle.
There were no more prints in the sand at this point. Just what appeared to be giant swaths of sand.
Their journey begins there, at the outskirts of the expansive Palma Oasis. It’s about time the beginning of their mission to rescue Peach isn’t in a generic grassland!
But, from the edge of Palma, Mario and friends must navigate this new frontier, until they’re lured into Bowser’s underwater castle and can rescue Peach once and for all… yet again.
I designed every level in this game so that only one player can beat it. I did not account for any extra space that players may need to play in multiplayer, as that would make some parts of the game too easy.

There are 8 worlds in Watery Super Mario Bros 3. All of them have 5 levels each, making for a total of 40 levels.
There is a full world map for the game, complete with optional 1-Up Toad houses, and alternate paths for levels in some worlds. (Some levels are optional, but not many.) You start off with 4 lives, which is similar to the amount of lives that you start off with in the original SMB3.
Down below are links to learn more about each world. It is advised that, to avoid spoilers, you look at them in order before playing each world.
Each link will provide you information about the story of each world, and all 5 individual levels in it, to give you context about what Bowser and his crew, or the natural world has been up to prior to your arrival to each world. It’s advised that you look at the descriptions for each new level as you finish the previous ones.
There are also pictures of some of the unique, custom enemies that I utilized throughout most worlds.
